RETURN & REFUND POLICY
Our return policy is simple, safe and hassle free. There are three versions of the policy, depending on what part of the world you live in.
If you live anywhere in Canada or the lower 48 United States we don't care why you want to send it back, maybe you lost your job for hitting on your bosses main crush at that lame staff bowling party, maybe your hand got mangled in a trash compactor while you were playing truth or dare with some cutie and you'll never play guitar again, maybe you got an 18 month posting to a nuclear submarine and can't take it with you. It just doesn't matter. The truth is, if you're not 100% happy, neither are we! And we'll make it better by taking the guitar back with no questions asked!
If within 30 days of receiving your brand spanking new RetroLine '59 guitar you want to return it simply contact us at info@retroline59.com and request a return slip. We'll send the return slip along with a prepaid FedEx (or other) shipment authorisation label for you to print out. Once you've received it via email simply pack up the guitar safely, along with all accessories that accompanied it, in it's original packaging, apply the shipping label, and call the carrier at the number provided to arrange pickup. To help prevent frivolous returns we will charge your account with half the amount of the return shipment charges. These half charges that you would pay, as of spring 2024, are estimated to be approximately $100 to $150 (Canadian dollars) depending on where you live. Further, because we freely entrust our baby to you for 30 days, the onus is entirely on you to maintain it in like new re-sellable condition. If baby comes back to us with some booboos or a tattoo of an elephant on its neck, no matter how cute it is, we reserve the right to retain from your refund, in addition to half of the return freight charges, either; the actual cost to refurbish it to like new, saleable condition, or the amount we have to discount it to sell it in "as is" condition, the choice of which is at our sole discretion. Rest assured that we will always be generous and forthright in our return policy transactions, however, we do have to place these minimal restrictions in place to protect ourselves from outright abuse. If you live in Alaska or Hawaii all of the above applies except you will be charged for 2/3 of the return freight costs. The costs that you would pay, as of spring 2024, are estimated to be in the $200 to $250 (Canadian dollar) range.
If you live outside of Canada or the 50 states of the USA all of the above still applies however we will only subsidise $150 (Canadian dollars) of the return shipping costs with the remainder being charged to your account and deducted from the refund amount. For some locations like Mexico for example that would mean you would pay an estimated $325 to $375 (Canadian Dollars). For other areas the delivery costs become quite exorbitant, for example if you lived in Azerbaijan or South Africa the estimated costs would be $700 to $850 (Canadian Dollars). In such cases, we will provide the cost to you in advance so you can decide if it is worthwhile for you to make the return.
SHIPPING INFO
We normally check our online order portal a minimum of three times per day. Being in the Pacific Time Zone orders received by noon Pacific time can often be picked, processed and shipped prior to the couriers mid afternoon cut off time. If not, your order will be processed and shipped the following day under normal circumstances if your online order is entered properly and the payment transaction processes correctly.
All RetroLine '59 guitar orders ship for free to Canada and the United States lower 48 states. Service level is FedEx Ground (2-8 day service depending on region) or UPS Standard (2-10 day service depending on region). If you require your guitar in a more timely manner please contact us at info@retroline59.com to discuss options. We will subsidise the cost of shipping by the amount it would have cost us to ship by our regular shipping method. When you pick the service level you desire we will issue you an invoice for the difference between the new cost and the cost we would have borne with standard shipping. Once this invoice is paid we will process the shipment to you.
If you live in Alaska or Hawaii we split 10 day or less delivery standard charges with you. We will prepay the delivery charge and charge back half of the amount, once it is known, to your account. Once the shipping charge is known you will be emailed an invoice for your half of the charges. Once that invoice has been paid your order will be shipped. Like the Canada/lower 48 US orders noted above, should you wish to receive your new RetroLine '59 in a timelier manner, please contact us at info@retroline59.com. The arrangements are similar with us subsidising the costs by the amount we would have paid for standard shipping.
If you live outside of Canada or the 50 states of the USA we pay the first $200 of the shipping charges and ship using a 10 day or less delivery standard. We will prepay the delivery charge, once it is known, and charge back that amount less $200 (Canadian dollars) to your account. Once this amount is known you will be emailed an invoice for your portion of the charges. Once that invoice has been paid your order will be shipped. Like the Canada/US orders, should you wish to receive your new RetroLine '59 in a timelier manner, please contact us at info@retroline59.com.The arrangements are similar with us subsidising the costs by the $200 (Canadian dollars) we would have paid for standard shipping.
For miscellaneous items other than guitar purchases all purchases are subject to prevailing Canada Post Parcel Postage Rates.
